S.M.O.C. @ BROOKLANDS AMERICAN DAY.


On Sunday 3rd September 2023, we put on a display of 70 cars at Brooklands ‘American Day’. Once again, SMOC owners created the biggest club display of the show making a huge impression on other exhibitors and the public. It was a fantastic day and a great rehearsal for our own special event '60 Years of Ford Mustang' planned for April 2024.


Our thanks once again to Max Wolf at Max Wolf Media for providing the video of a full walk around the event including our club display.


The admin team wish to thank all the members who attended, and we are very pleased to welcome a further 14 members who joined our club on the day.

S.M.O.C. CRUISE & LUNCH @ THE DEERS HUT.


On Saturday 19th August 2023 we held our second visit of the year to The Deers Hut, in Griggs Green. On this occasion we had opted for a barbecue.

Our group of 22 cars parked on the paddock lawn, and after a good natter we moved through to the garden and the marquee which had been set aside for us. Our number for this trip was 41 and we were able to choose between eating in the shelter of the marquee or in the open air.

As always, the team at The Deers Hut did not let us down. The barbecue was excellent and plentiful. We all left the service area with full plates and having dealt with those; we were invited to return for seconds. 

Jason was absent on this occasion, but the owner - Debbie, was on hand throughout, and Chris and his colleagues looked after us extremely well. We’ll be returning in 2024.

S.M.O.C. @ BROOKLANDS MOPAR MUSCLE ASSOCIATION DAY

On Sunday 28th May, our club put on a great display in support of our friends at MMA, with a stand of 58 cars. We secured a prime position on the finishing straight. 

Besides an incredible line-up of Mustangs, ranging from Danny Butler’s recently acquired 1964 ½ 260ci Coupe to Stephanie Widdison’s 2022 Mach 1, we were very pleased to have other cars on display by our members including: James’ 1957 Chevy Belair, Andrew’s 2022 Dodge Charger Hellcat, Anil’s ‘Knight Rider’ Pontiac Firebird, Ken’s 1969 Ranchero, John’s 1968 Cougar, John’s Dodge RAM and Bryan’s 1957 Thunderbird.  

Unfortunately, we were unable to capture any video footage of this years' event however Max Wolf at MMA has kindly given us access to his work via YouTube. Thank you Max!

S.M.O.C. CRUISE & LUNCH @ THE DEERS HUT.

Saturday 20th May 2023 was our latest ‘Cruise & Lunch at The Deers Hut’. The trip attracted 50 of our members, our largest attendance to this event so date. Our 24 American V8’s passed through the Hindhead Tunnel almost unnoticed (yeah right!), as we enjoyed a leisurely drive down the A3 to Griggs Green. 
 
Having parked our cars on a grass area set aside for our us, we moved into the private garden and marquee for our lunch. As always, Debbie, Jason and the team made us really welcome and provided excellent food, drinks and service. We thank them for their hospitality. 

We thank our members for their kind donations to Macmillan Cancer Support totalling £46.45.

S.M.O.C. VISIT TO MUSCLE CAR UK & PILGRIM MOTORSPORTS.

On Sunday 16th April, over 70 of our members and 37 cars made the trip to Muscle Car UK in Henfield, Sussex.

The convoy to Henfield was spectacular as was the line up outside the workshop. With a warm welcome from Paul, Nicola and the team, we were provided with some excellent refreshments. Many of the staff had taken time away from their families for our visit and with them on hand with information and guidance, our members had open access to the workshop, restoration shop, and the Cobra factory along with the numerous projects and cars for sale. Two notable cars were a ’66 Coupe - the stunt car for the Guy Ritchie film ‘Operation Fortune’, and a truly outstanding ’69 Fastback ‘John Wick’ tribute car. 
 
Our charity collection raised £161.55 on the day, and was forwarded to Macmillan Cancer Support in the name of Muscle Car UK and Surrey Mustang Owners Club.

On Sunday 4th September 2022, we had 48 cars on display at Brooklands ‘American Day’. Our stand was by far the biggest of the event and it drew a lot of attention from other exhibitors and the public.

S.M.O.C. CRUISE & LUNCH @ THE DEERS HUT.

Saturday 20th August was our late summer visit to The Deers Hut, Griggs Green, Liphook. After meeting at The Black Swan, Ockham, we cruised down the A3, made a bit of noise in the Hindhead Tunnel and lined up our 25 cars in a roped off area on the lawn. 46 of our members were booked for lunch with a custom menu for our group and a large outdoor area was set aside for us. Yet again, all the team provided great food and great service.  

A big thank you goes to Debbie, Jason, Chris and The Deers Hut team. We will be back in 2023.
