1973 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE


1973 Ford Mustang Convertible with 351-4V V8 & 3-Speed Automatic Transmission. This car is an original one owner car from new. I imported this car in 2016, after spending a few years try to find an unmolested car. Drives beautifully. Brakes are good and the steering is light and precise. I have only taken the car to Mustang owners meetings and has never let me down. All duties and taxes have been paid all, conversion work carried out to meet UK regulations. 


This car comes with all the original paperwork and is a time capsule of 1973. No rust, a few little blemishes for a car that is over 40 years old is to be expected. 


Matching numbers car. Still has original factory paper tags, quality control stamps and colour coding on various parts. Of note is the grease pencil number on the front sub frame. Found under the carpet is the original Ford factory build sheet. 


I also found behind the glove box the original Ford owner’s card. With this I was able to track down the first owner in the USA, and he confirmed that the car was purchased by the couple from Town and Country Ford in North Carolina in 1973 and was bought for his wife. This car is a real one owner car. 


The original owners ticked almost all the option boxes that Ford offered. Please see the Marti report for the full spec. The engine is the original 351cid Cobra Jet, with the original Autolite/ Motorcraft 4300D carb. The car is finished in original Blue Glow metallic, which was an extra cost option at the time. The car has 63k original miles, and has not been “round the clock”. Car sold as seen.

2010 Ford Mustang 4.0ltr V6 Coupe Premium, 5-speed manual transmission, 61,500 miles (not a daily driver so minimum increase). Kona Blue - paint blistering on front of bonnet (apparently usual for this year and model). Usual paint wear for a 15 year old Mustang. Not original 18” polished aluminium wheels (replacement S197 wheels),  I have the originals although scuffed beyond reasonable repair - included in the sale. 
V6 Pony Package, Factory fitted GT deck lid spoiler, Automatic headlight control, Pony tape stripe, Original window sticker, MOT and service November 2024, 60ltr LPG tank in spare wheel space and optional LPG fuel, New battery March 2025.
