Our Show - 2021
OUR 2021 ALL-AMERICAN EVENT & BBQ.
Saturday 31st July 2021 saw our annual event and barbecue at The Fairmile, Cobham. Following the disruption caused by Covid-19 restrictions and difficulties in scheduling pre-entry we opted to hold the event as members only.
An advance team were on site just after 8 am to set up our new HQ and a gazebo for St John’s Ambulance who provided first aid cover for the day. 77 cars were pre-registered along with nearly 200 members and guests. By around 10:30 it was clear that the changeable weather forecast may have kept a few people away, but we still had over 50 cars and in excess of 130 members and guests on site.
The admin team wish to thank a few people who helped us from the very start of our day. Thanks to

for marshalling the cars as they arrived, and to

for helping out in our HQ selling merchandise and helping our members.
Through the morning, members were able to view the cars and browse the trade stands provided by
Skyco
- selling American groceries and
CML Detailing.
DJ
Jon Patrick
once again gave us all a great soundtrack for the day. Late in the morning we held a free draw for all attending members for ten bundles of Yum Cars products donated to our club by former members
Nick
and
Kelly
at
Yum Cars. Each bundle included bottles of Detailer, Deodoriser and Interior along with three trigger sprays and a Yum Cars sticker. Our thanks go to Yum Cars for continuing to support our club.
Just after mid-day the staff from The Fairmile opened up the BBQ which once again was well received. Shortly after, and as the rain clouds gathered we held a rather hurried presentation for our ‘Best of Show’ awards. Having counted the votes cast by members, guests and visitors throughout the morning, we announced the recipients of four trophies provided by the club and insurance discount vouchers provided by
Adrian Flux, A-Plan Specialist Insurance, Brentacre
and
Classicline.

Sadly, torrential rain brought the event to an early close but everybody was pleased to have a great morning of cars and friends, and have enough time to get some BBQ in just before rain stopped play.
